The Open Kitchen Project begins May 9th
My immediate goal is to initiate the project using the most basic and essential means possible. I plan to show my commitment to the community by beginning to clean up the lots and establish a presence. Information about the project would be done through word of mouth, out reach to schools, churches and local community organizations creating a network of potential collaborators. The idea is to construct with whatever means available a working kitchen to feed all those that participate during the many stages of the project. Much like a plant the initial structure will grow and blossom as we collect building materials and resources. This grassroots approach will generate interest and make connections beyond the neighborhood. Through diverse creative processes, I plan to commence the project in April 2015 and collaborate with anyone interested to share and grow with the project.
